They met while working for a large landscape company in Victoria. She was a carpenter, and he worked with stone in the landscape department. The name came naturally. Somewhere between sawdust and stone dust, they fell in love and decided to take a chance on building something of their own.

After traveling across the country together, they returned home inspired and ready to create a company that reflected their values, their craft, and their care for people.
In 2013, they founded Sticks & Stones with a simple goal: to take full ownership of every project and ensure excellence from start to finish. Having both experienced the gap that often exists between design and construction, Steve and Cassidy set out to close it.

Before the trucks, the team, and the machines, there was just Steve, Cassidy, and a van full of big dreams.

What began with a small fence job and a big vision has grown into a thriving, full-service landscape construction company with a skilled crew, a fleet of trucks and machines, and a reputation for work defined by artistry and integrity.

Today, Sticks & Stones is a family-owned business through and through. Steve and Cassidy now run the company alongside their growing family, personally overseeing each project from the first meeting to the final detail. When you work with Sticks & Stones, you’re supporting not just a local business but the families of the people who make it what it is. What started as two people and a van has become a legacy built on love, hard work, and the belief that great things grow when they’re built with care.

And today, that leap of faith is still paying off.
